Female dog trainer and dog | Christchurch New Zealand

Lavinia Tan, PhD

Behaviourist / Trainer

Female trainer walking dog | Christchurch New Zealand

I believe all dogs and people deserve to live full, happy lives, and everyone wants the best for their dog.

I make the most of my unique raft of skills and experience to foster connection and understanding between canines and humans, and teach the skills needed to successfully negotiate the world and all its challenges.

Individuality is celebrated here and I understand one size doesn't fit all.

My services are practical and flexible to suit your needs and lifestyle, so you and your dog are set up for success and the results you desire.

Hi! I'm Lavinia,
founder of Adaptive Behaviour

I have almost 20 years of education and work experience with animals (and people) in a range of areas, including psychology, zoology, animal care and training, learning and behaviour, scientific research, teaching, communication, and conflict resolution.

(More details about my experience and qualifications can be found here)

These skills, combined with my passion for people, animals and their welfare, mean I'm uniquely qualified to provide expert, effective, and empathetic behavioural support for humans and their pets.

Working with me, you (and your dog) will be:

  • heard

  • respected

  • supported

  • challenged (in a good way!)

  • empowered
